If you’re in the market for a racing-style gaming chair, but you are working with a limited budget, in this guide, we’ve listed some of the top gaming chairs for under $200.
The market for gaming chairs is a strange one, because, from one chair brand to another, there isn’t a whole lot of difference. This is even more true at the lower-end of the market. Most gaming chairs in the $100-$200 price range really aren’t that different from each other. In fact, if you go onto Amazon and search for gaming chairs in this price range, you’re going to see hundreds of different brands to choose from, but all of the chairs are more or less the same (same general design and features.)
For the most part, the only real difference between the different options in the $100-$200 price range is the color schemes that are available, the price they come in at, and, to an extent, a couple of smaller features.
In this guide, though, we’re going to try and help you sort through all of the different options you have so that you can find the best gaming chair under $200 for your needs.

Top Pick Under $200:
Ficmax Racing
In terms of the gaming chair that has the most to offer in the sub-$200 price range, I think that goes to the Ficmax Racing chair. It comes with a maximum weight capacity of up to 300 lbs., it is available in four different color schemes, and it comes with both a lumbar support pillow and a neck pillow.
The main reason why we picked this Ficmax chair as our top gaming chair under $200, though, is because of its extra thick seat cushion. The extra thick seat cushion is a positive feature for two reasons… first, the extra thickness of the seat base will be more comfortable to sit in and will hold up better over the long run.
And, the second reason is that the thicker seat base eliminates the over-exaggerated nature of the bucket-style seats. Since the seat cushion is thicker, the “winged” bucket style seats won’t restrict your legs as much, which should provide a more comfortable sitting experience.
In the end, no gaming chair under $200 is going to provide an ideal sitting experience. However, if you want a racing-style chair, but you don’t have a ton of money to spend in order to get one, the Ficmax Racing chair is probably your best bet in the sub-$200 price range.
Value Pick:
RESPAWN-110
The RESPAWN-110 is another solid gaming chair choice in the $100-$200 price range. In fact, in a lot of ways, it is probably the best option on this list. Wheras the Ficmax chair listed above comes in at just under ~$190, the RESPAWN-110 comes in at just under ~$135.
It doesn’t quite have the same racing-style design that the Ficmax chair has, but it is pretty close. The only differences between the two chairs (in terms of design and style), is that the RESPAWN-110-opts for an office style arm rest and seat base. And, in a lot of ways, these two design differences make the RESPAWN-110 a better option for anyone who wants a more ergonomically-sound chair.
The arm rests on the RESPAWN-110 will offer more padding than the traditional arm rests that come on gaming-style chairs, and the flatter seat base will offer a better sitting experience than gaming chairs that opt for a more exaggerated bucket-style seat.
The RESPAWN-110 does only have a maximum weight capacity of up to 275-pounds, so it isn’t ideal for larger gamers. But, if you are a larger gamer, you should probably be looking to spend a bit more to get a better quality chair, anyways. Check out our guides on The Best Big & Tall Gaming Chairs or The Best Big & Tall Office Chairs if you are in need of a more heavy-duty option.
Ultimately, at just under ~$135, the RESPAWN-110 is going to offer the best of both worlds in terms of the price it comes in at, its design and style, and the sitting experience it will provide.
Office Chair Under $200:
SPACE Seating Pro
If you haven’t heard it yet, let me tell you that, in your search for a “gaming chair,” someone is going to tell you that you’re wasting your money and you should get an office chair instead. The argument is that an office chair will always provide a better sitting experience than a gaming chair and, to an extent, I agree.
The reality, though, is that there is no option in the sub-$200 price range that will offer you an ideal sitting experience, regardless of whether it is an office-style chair or a gaming chair. And, since you’re going to make compromises in this price range anyways, if you want to get a racing-style chair, I don’t think you should feel too bad about doing so.
That being said, if you don’t necessarily need a racing-style chair, an office chair will probably be the better option for you. And, if that’s the case, the SPACE Seating Professional is a solid option in this price range. You can also check out more office style chairs in this price range by going to our Best Office Chairs Under $200 guide.
The bottom line is that, if you’re not in love with the “racing-style” design, then you’re probably better off with an office-style chair instead. And, in this price range, the SPACE Seating Professional is as good an option as any.
Budget-Friendly Pick:
Furmax Gaming Chair
Furmax’s gaming chair is one of the cheapest options in this price range that doesn’t stray too far away from the traditional racing-style design. It comes in a couple of different color schemes (although, Furmax does have a couple of more expensive versions of the chair as well), has a maximum weight capacity of up to 310-pounds, and costs just a little under ~$120.
Like the Ficmax chair listed at the top of this guide, the Furmax chair also comes with a pull-out foot rest so that when you recline it, you can kick your feet up, too.
The downside of this chair, though, is that it doesn’t have quite as thick of a seat base and the “winged” bucket style seats are a bit more exaggerated. Both of these factors will likely result in a slightly less comfortable sitting experience. However, if you’re a smaller user, you might be able to make this chair work.
It should be noted, though, that if you want to spend less on a gaming chair, you can definitely do so. There are options that come in at under $100 (check out our guide on the Best Cheap Gaming Chairs), although, the further down you go in price, the lower quality chair you’re going to get.
Honorable Mention #1:
GTRACING GTBEE
I got a chance to review the GTRacing GTBEE not too long ago and, while it was a decent chair to sit in, it didn’t offer as great of a sitting experience as it could have. The main problem with the GTBEE, for me, was its exaggerated bucket-style seats.
I’ve said it before in this post and I’ll say it again: the bucket-style seats on most racing-style chairs are restrictive.
If you like to sit with your legs even a little apart, a chair with exaggerated bucket-style seats is not going to be a good option for you. They restrict how far you can spread your legs apart and are, therefore, uncomfortable.
However, if you are a smaller user and you don’t mind having a “snugger” fitting chair, then a chair like the GTBEE could work for you. The GTBEE does come in five different color schemes and features the standard racing-style design. It also comes with a maximum weight capacity of up to 300-pounds. And, at just under ~$150, it isn’t terribly priced.
Still, though, with options like the RESPAWN-110 and the Ficmax gaming chair offering less restrictive seat bases, I’d opt for one of those options over the GTBEE.
Honorable Mention #2:
UOMAX Chair
The UOMAX gaming chair is an interesting option if you don’t mind moving away from the traditional racing-style design that “gaming” chairs often come with. In fact, the UOMAX comes with a couple of features that help it stand out over some of the other racing style chairs on this list.
First, it comes with a flat seat base. So, it ditches the bucket-style seat to opt for a less restrictive seat base. This will provide a much more comfortable seating experience. And, the other feature that stands out on the UOMAX chair is its curved back rest, which makes it more ergonomically sound when compared to the other racing style chairs on this list.
The downside of the UOMAX chair, though, is that it comes with a thinner seat cushion. So, it’s tough to say how well this chair’s comfort would hold up over the long run. And, the chair also comes in at ~$170, which makes it quite a bit more expensive than the RESPAWN-110, which provides an equally flat seat base.
Overall, the UOMAX chair would be worth considering if you like the unique design it comes with and the more ergonomic back rest. Just note that the thin seat base might not hold up well over time.
Honorable Mention #3:
TOPSKY High Back
The TOPSKY High Back is a similar option to the RESPAWN-110. Like the RESPAWN-110, the TOPSKY chair offers a flat seat base, a pull-out foot rest, and the same office-style wrist rests.
However, the TOPSKY High Back comes in at nearly $30 more expensive than the RESPAWN-110, making it tough to recommend. It does come with a slightly different design on the back rest, which might win some users over and it does offer a few different color schemes, too.
But, in the end, for a lot less the RESPAWN-110 makes more sense. Or, you could spend a little more and get the Ficmax gaming chair, which will offer a more traditional gaming-style chair.
Is A Gaming Chair Under $200 Worth It?
Spending between $100-$200 on a gaming chair won’t land you an ideal sitting experience. But, spending that much on an office style won’t deliver you a perfect chair, either. So, either way, in this price range you’re going to be making some sacrifices. In this guide, we’ve covered six different “gaming” chairs and one office chair to help you find the best option under $200 to help you find the right option for your needs.
