1. Secretlab Titan Evo
Best gaming chair overall
- Max Capacity: 395 lbs.
- PU Leather
- High Back Style
- 10+ Color Schemes
I’m probably a bit biased because the Secretlab Titan Evo is the chair that I am currently sitting in, but I love this chair. I’ve sat in this chair for nearly four years now and it has not only been comfortable to sit in, but it has also held up incredibly well.
The Secretlab Titan Evo is available in a ton of different color schemes and upholstery styles. The chair is available in Secretlab’s Prime PU leather, their SoftWeave fabric, and their genuine NAPA leather. There are multiple color schemes available for each upholstery style as well, including plenty of Special Edition options, too.
The standard edition Evo chair has a maximum capacity of 290 lbs. However, the larger edition chair can hold up to 395 lbs. So, the nice thing about the Evo is that there are multiple sizes to accommodate any size user.
One of the biggest pluses of the Titan, in my opinion, is the comfort it offers. Racing-style gaming chairs get a lot of heat for being all gimmick and for not offering a quality sitting option. But, from my experience in sitting in the Titan, not only is it comfortable, but it offers incredible support as well. It has a lumbar support adjustment knob, so, rather than using a pillow for lumbar support, the lumbar support is built directly into the chair.
The chair also comes with a velour pillow. When I first got the Titan I didn’t think I would even use the pillow, but I’ve ended up keeping it on the chair at all times. It has a strap that goes around the back so that you can put it around the top of your chair and adjust it to fit your needs.
The Titan also has multiple tilt features, including the ability to tilt at its base and recline the back of the seat. The backrest can recline to a maximum angle of 165° and the base-tilt feature can be unlocked (which allows the chair to rock back and forth), or locked into a variety of angles.
Ultimately, if you are looking for the best gaming chair under $400, then I highly recommend the Titan. Click on the link to read my full Secretlab Titan review.
2. E-WIN Champion
A solid value gaming chair option
- Max Capacity: 300 lbs.
- PU Leather
- High Back Style
- 3 Color Schemes
The E-WIN Champion series stands out from the rest of the gaming chair market with a competitive price tag. For just a little over $300, the Champion series comes with the types of features that you’d expect to find on a higher-end gaming chair.
For starters, the Champion series foregoes the traditional bucket-stlye seat that many gaming chairs come with and, instead, opts for a flatter seat base. This will make it a more comfortable option for larger users.
The Champion series also comes with a fabric seat base, a multi-tilt mechanism, 4D adjustable arm rests, and the ability to recline back to 155-degrees.
In the end, while the E-WIN Champion series isn’t the best overall option on the market, if you are working with a bit tighter of a budget, it is probably one of the better value options currently available. So, if you’re looking for the best gaming chair for about $300, then the Champion series would be worth checking out.
3. Secretlab Omega
An excellent chair for smaller people
- Max Capacity: 240 lbs.
- PU Leather
- High Back Style
- 10+ Color Schemes
Secretlab’s Omega edition gaming chair is essentially a mini version of their bigger Titan series chair. The Omega has the same adjustment options as the Titan. It’s arm rests can be adjusted up and down, side-to-side, forwards and backwards, and at an angle.
And, just like the Titan, the Omega can also recline back to a maximum of 165° as well as tilt at its base. The base can either be unlocked so that the chair can rock back and forth freely, or it can be locked in a zero angle, or at a tilted angle as well.
Again, the Omega is smaller than the Titan and it is intended for smaller users. It’s maximum height capacity is 5’9″ and it’s maximum weight capacity is 240 lbs. However, Secretlab does have a recommended weight of 175 lbs. To me this is likely Secretlab erring on the side of caution, as I am 180 lbs. and the chair holds me just fine. In fact, I’m sure this chair could easily hold someone ~200 lbs. and hold up well over the long run. The chair is very well built.
The Omega also comes with both a velour head/neck pillow (the same one that the Titan comes with) and a velour memory foam lumbar support. The only real problem I had with the chair was that the lumbar support pillow is not attached to the back rest in anyway. So, on occassion, when I would move around to adjust in the seat, the pillow would slip down, and I’d have to reach back to readjust it.
Overall, though, if you have a smaller body type and you’re looking for a high-quality gaming chair, the Secretlab Omega is definitely worth considering. You can also check out our full Secretlab Omega review by following the link.
4. E-WIN Knight
The best affordable gaming chair
- Max Capacity: 300 lbs.
- PU Leather
- High Back Style
- 3 Color Schemes
In our opinion, the E-WIN Knight gaming chair is the best option under $200, narrowly edging out the gaming chairs listed below. The E-WIN chair does cost a bit more than the options listed below, but its flatter seat won’t feel as restricting to sit in than the bucket-style seats commonly found on chairs in this price range.
The E-WIN chair can hold users that are up to 300 lbs. as well, so it is a somewhat sturdy chair. Just note, though, that there is no set standard for listing a weight capacity for chairs and so while this chair might be able to hold someone that is up to 300 lbs., it might not be the best option over the long run for someone who needs a big and tall gaming chair.
Ultimately, though, for just a little under $200, the E-WIN Knight chair offers the standard racing-style look and a flatter seat base than its competitors. All of those features help make it our choice for the best gaming chair under $200.
5. Herman Miller Embody
Best ergonomic office chair
It is hard to justify spending nearly $2,000 on anything—let alone a chair. However, that is what Herman Miller’s Embody will run you. No, it’s not a gaming chair (although, they did collaborate with Logitech to make a gaming version of the Embody). However, it is arguably one of the best chairs ever made.
Still, for $2,000, you could purchase a $1,500 gaming PC and the Secretlab Titan Evo.
So, who is the Herman Miller Embody for?
The Embody really only makes sense for people who have a large budget and who sit in a chair all day long. The Embody’s ergonomic design is second to none and is, therefore, one of the best investments for anyone who spends a lot of time sitting.
Ultimately, if you value your posture and back health more than you want a cool-looking gaming chair, a high-end office chair like the Embody would be a better option for you. And, if you don’t want to fork out two grand for a chair, there are other solid ergnomic office chairs that can be had for well under $1,000. (See the NeueChair listed below.)
6. X Rocker Pro Series
Best console gaming chair
For console games, X Rocker’s Pro Series of chairs is worth checking out. The X Rocker isn’t your standard racing-style gaming chair. Rather, it’s a lower-sitting pedestal-style chair.
The X Rocker is a much thicker chair than standard gaming or office chairs, making it look more like a recliner. This seat also has some unique features, including built-in speakers and subwoofers, and vibration motors (that sync to your audio).
And, you can connect the X Rocker to your Xbox or PlayStation wirelessly or over Bluetooth.
The seat has a maximum weight capacity of up to 275 lbs., sports a PU leather cover, is available in a bunch of different color schemes, and weighs 49.1 lbs.
In the end, the X Rocker won’t make a great option for PC gamers (due to its fixed height). But, for console games who are looking for some cool features, it is the perfect gaming chair option.
7. DXRacer Master Modular
Honorable mention #1
Another solid high-end gaming chair option is DXRacer’s Master Module series of chairs. The Master Module series is available in three different color schemes, including: all black, brown, and maroon.
Thanks to its premium 5-star base, the Master Module series is rated to hold users that weigh up to 353-pounds. Like all of DXRacer’s chairs, the Master Module series has the ability to recline backwards—with this specific model being able to go back 135-degrees.
And, like the Secretlab Titan, the Master Module features built-in adjustable lumbar support and 4D arm rests. The chair also comes with microfiber leather instead of PU leather, which may or may not be a pro for you.
In the end, though, because of its higher price tag, fewer color schemes/styles, and lack of different sizes, it doesn’t quite have enough to dethrone the Secretlab Titan as our pick for the best gaming chair.
8. NeueChair
Honorable mention #2
- Max Capacity: 240 lbs.
- Mesh
- Mid Back Style
- 2 Color Schemes
If you don’t necessarily need the racing style design that most gaming chairs come with and you’d prefer a seating option that offers maximum comfort and promotes the best sitting posture possible, then you might be better off opting for an ergonomic-centric office chair.
The NeueChair is one of the best ergonomic office seats currently available. Unlike many of the racing style gaming chairs on this list, the NeueChair offers a flatter seat base, lumbar ajustment, and an all mesh design. These features may not scream “gaming” chair, but they are better options for anyone who is sitting at a desk for hours on end.
And, while the price of the NeueChair is quite a bit more than the other options listed in this guide, there are plenty of high-end ergonomic office chairs that cost well over $1,000 (including the Herman Miller Embody listed above). So, at a bit over $600, the NeueChair is actually moderately priced for being a premium office style chair.
Ultimately, though, if you’d prefer a seating option that is more ergonomically designed and you don’t mind paying a premium, the NeueChair is worth considering.
9. BestOffice Racing
Honorable mention #3
For the most part, the cheap gaming chair options under $100 are all really just cheap office chairs that have a little bit of color added to them. However, the BestOffice Racing chair actually mainstains the same “racing” style design that you’ve likely seen on higher-end gaming chairs.
While the BestOffice Racing chair isn’t going to provide you with the highest end chair possible, it’s not a bad option in the sub-$100 price range. It has most of the options you’d expect out of a gaming chair, like the ability to recline, height adjustment, arm rest height adjustement, and a lumbar pillow and neck pillow, too.
It even comes with a footrest that pulles out from beneath the seat. And, perhaps the most important feature on the BestOffice Racing chair is the fact that, while there are “wings” that come off the side of the seat base, the cushion is tall enough to where it eliminates any kind of serious bucket in the seat. And, that means you won’t feel as restricted by the bucket seats sitting in this chair.
Ultimately, if you’re looking for the best gaming chair, but you don’t have a ton of money to spend, the BestOffice Racing chair is a cheap option that will work decently for now. However, you probably shouldn’t expect it to serve you well as a long-term sitting option.
Which Option is the Best Gaming Chair for You?
There are a lot of factors to consider when going out and choosing a computer chair. First and foremost, the gaming chair you choose will largely depend on how much you spend.
And, from there, it will all come down to what kind of style chair you want and what color scheme you’d prefer. Of course, comfort is a big factor, and if you have ~$100 or more to spend, it probably won’t be a concern (because most of the options over $100 are going to be pretty comfortable.)
Ultimately, if you are looking for the best computer chairs for gaming, any of the options on the above list should meet the majority of gamers’ needs.
