1. Vitesse Gaming Chair
Best cheap gaming chair overall
- Max Capacity: 300 lbs.
- PU Leather
- High Back Style
- 4 Color Schemes
Vitesse’s gaming chair looks like some of the higher-end gaming chairs out there. In fact, it’s essentially the same basic design as the DXRacer Formula Series chair I reviewed a few months back. However, this chair comes in at significantly less money that the chairs it mimics.
Does that mean it’s a steal of a deal? Well, not necessarily. The Vitesse racing chair isn’t going to be as well-built as higher-end models (constructed with cheaper materials). And, it’s probably not going to be as comfortable, either.
However, because it does look like the higher-end gaming chairs, it at least gives you that racing-style design that everyone loves for ~$100.
The Vitesse racing chair comes in four different color schemes: black and blue, all black, black and white, and black and red. So, there are quite a few options to choose between in terms of styles and color schemes.
For its weight capacity, the Vitesse gaming chair can hold users up to 300 lbs. The chair can also recline back 180-degrees and its height and armrest height can be adjusted, too.
Ultimately, this is a cheap gaming chair that looks like some of the higher-end options and even has some of the same adjustment features. However, it isn’t a chair that you should count on to hold up over the long run and you’ll probably want to be looking for a better PC gaming chair to upgrade to when you have it in your budget.
2. SEATZONE Mid-Back
Good value budget gaming chair
- Max Capacity: 250 lbs.
- PU Leather
- Mid Back Style
- 3 Color Schemes
At a bit under $100, the SEATZONE Mid-Back Executive office chair has enough flair in its design to provoke the feelings of a gaming chair. However, this is really just a standard mid-back office chair with some color added.
But, that’s not a bad thing.
If you’re really strapped for cash and you don’t necessarily need that specific racing-style design that more expensive gaming chairs have, SEATZONE’s chair will be a decent budget-friendly option that will hold you over until you can afford a better chair.
This chair can support users up to a maximum of 250 lbs. and it comes in three different color schemes: black and red, black, white, and red, and all black with red trim. The height of the seat is adjustable, but that is about the extent of the adjustment features in this chair.
The SEATZONE Mid-Back is covered in PU leather, as well.
Ultimately, if you’re looking for a somewhat decent option that won’t break the bank and will hold you over until you can upgrade, going with this chair wouldn’t be the end of the world.
3. BestOffice Racing
Cheapest gaming chair overall
- Max Capacity: 250 lbs.
- PU Leather
- High Back Style
- 3 Color Schemes
The BestOffice High Back “Racing” Style gaming chair is similar to the Merax Mid-Back chair listed above, except that it comes in even cheaper. Just like the Merax Mid-Back chair, this BestOffice “gaming” chair is essentially an office chair with some extra color added.
This chair comes in three different color schemes: black and white, black and red, and black and blue.
While it comes in at a decent price discount over the Merax Mid-Back chair and it comes with a higher weight capacity (up to 250 lbs.) it doesn’t have as much padding as the Merax Mid-Back chair.
Still, though, for just under $70, this isn’t a bad deal. And, this is especially true when you consider that there really aren’t any gaming chairs under $100 that are ideal options. In this price range, you’re really just looking for a temporary solution until you can afford a better chair.
So, if none of these chairs are ideal options, you could save the most money by going with this BestOffice chair and save the difference for when you’re ready to upgrade.
4. Merax High-Back Chair
Honorable mention #1
- Max Capacity: 225 lbs.
- PU Leather
- High Back Style
- 4 Color Schemes
As a nice alternative to the Vitesse gaming chair listed at the top of this list, Merax’s High Back gaming chair is essentially the same chair. The main difference between this Merax gaming chair and the Vitesse gaming chair are that the Vitesse chair has a higher weight capacity.
The Vitesse chair has a maximum capacity of 300 lbs., whereas this Merax gaming chair only has a maximum capacity of up to 225 lbs.
Still, Merax’s gaming chair has mostly similar features, including the ability to be adjusted up and down at its base and at its armrests and it can also recline backward. The chair also has the same design that higher-end gaming chairs have, so while it may not be the most comfortable chair on the market, if its the racing style you’re looking for, this chair definitely has it.
The one advantage that Merax’s chair has over the Vitesse chair, is that this chair comes in some different color schemes (black and white, black and blue, black and red, and black and orange)
Ultimately, if you don’t need the extra weight capacity that the Vitesse chair provides, the Merax High Back gaming chair is just as good of an option.
5. Merax Ergonomic Racing
Honorable mention #2
- Max Capacity: 230 lbs.
- PU Leather
- High Back Style
- 6 Color Schemes
For just a little over $90, you can land Merax’s Ergonomic racing style chair. This chair is very similar to our Value Pick—which also happened to be a Merax chair as well.
The main difference between this Merax chair and the Merax Mid-Back chair listed above are that this chair is a bit more expensive. However, this Merax chair does come in a lot more color schemes (six total) and can recline back 120-degrees.
So, the price difference between the two may be worth it if you are looking for one of the specific color schemes that this Merax chair comes with that the one listed above doesn’t, or if you’re looking for a budget-friendly chair that can recline.
6. OFM Essentials Chair
Honorable mention #3
- Max Capacity: 200 lbs.
- PU Leather & Mesh
- Mid Back Style
- 4 Color Schemes
Finally, the cheapest chair on this list is OFM’s Essentials Gaming chair. Like a few of the other chairs listed above, the OFM “gaming” chair isn’t a true racing-style chair that you’re likely accustomed to seeing.
However, it costs just a little over $60, comes with a little bit of color in it to help it stand out, and will serve as a decent chair if you can’t afford anything more expensive.
Again, none of the chairs on this list are excellent options and so, if you just don’t have the money to get one of the more expensive models listed above, it’s not a terrible option to spend as little as possible now in order to save more money for when you are ready to purchase a better gaming chair.
Will A Cheap Gaming Chair Work for You?
In all honesty, the chairs listed above aren’t ideal options. However, the common sentiment of “just get an office chair” doesn’t really apply here, either, because cheap office chairs under $100 aren’t great options either.
However, if you don’t really have any other option but to get a chair for under $100, the options above could at least hold you over until you can afford to get a higher-end gaming chair.
