If you’re looking for a high-end AMD-based gaming laptop that has a 360Hz refresh rate, you’ll want to check out the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17.

This ASUS gaming laptop comes with a Ryzen 9 5900HX processor, 32GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU, a 2TB SSD, and a larger 17.3-inch 1080P display.

The combination of the Ryzen 9 5900HX and the RTX 3080 is extremely powerful and will allow you to max out any game you throw at it at a high enough average framerate to truly be able to take advantage of the higher 360Hz refresh rate.

And, at just a little over ~$3,000, the ROG Strix Scar 17 comes in at a better value than the Intel-based MSI GE76 Raider listed below. However, the MSI GE76 Raider does have the better battery and higher power limit, which will unleash its RTX 3080 a bit more than. But, in terms of real world performance, the advantage may not be significant enough to justify such a big price difference.

So, in our opinion, the Strix Scar 17 Ryzen 9 laptop is the better option for those who aren’t looking to throw money away needlessly. But, if you have an unlimited budget, the performance bump that the GE76 Raider will provide would be worth considering.

2. MSI GE76 Raider

The best Intel 360Hz laptop

MSI GE76 Raider 17.3-inch 360Hz Laptop

  • NVIDIA RTX 3080
  • 1080P / 360Hz
  • 32GB DDR4 RAM

If you don’t mind paying a premium to squeeze out as much performance as possible, then the MSI GE76 Raider might be the option for you.

It comes with an Intel Core i9-11980HK processor, 32GB of RAM, an RTX 3080 GPU, a 1TB SSD, and a 17.3-inch 1080P display.

It has essentially the same hardware configuration as the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 listed above, with the exception of the Intel processor it comes with and its higher power limit on the RTX 3080 GPU.

In terms of the performance difference between the Ryzen 9 processor on the ROG Strix Scar 17 and the Intel Core i9 processor on this MSI gaming laptop, the difference will be negligible in real world performance. However, the added power limit that the GE76 Raider comes with should give it a small—but noticeable—performance bump. But, whether or not that small performance increase will be worth the extra ~$1,500 pricetag that the GE76 comes with will be up to you to decide.

3. Razer Blade 15

The best value option for a 360Hz laptop

Razer Blade 15 Advanced Gaming Laptop 360Hz
  • Intel i7-11800H
  • NVIDIA RTX 3070
  • 1080P / 360Hz
  • 16GB DDR4 RAM

Our Rating: 9.3/10

If you’re looking for a more affordable 360Hz laptop option, Razer’s Blade 15 might be a better choice for you. At just under ~$2,700, it is quite a bit cheaper than both of the laptops listed above.

However, that is because it is an RTX 3070 laptop, whereas the other two options come with an RTX 3080 GPU. And, so, while you will save money by opting for the Razer Blade 15, you will also lose a decent amount of performance with the GPU downgrade.

It also comes with the slightly weaker i7-11800H CPU (when compared to the Ryzen 9 5900HX and the i9-11980HK), but that will still be enough CPU power to suit the vast majority of users’ needs.

Ultimately, the Razer Blade 15 is a solid all-around option that is well-suited for those gamers that don’t quite have the budget to get one of the RTX 3080 laptops listed above, but who still want a high-end 360Hz gaming laptop.

4. Alienware m17 R4

The cheapest 360Hz laptop currently available

Alienware m17 R4, 17.3 inch FHD 360Hz Gaming Laptop
  • Intel i7-10870H
  • NVIDIA RTX 3060
  • 1080P / 360Hz
  • 16GB DDR4 RAM

Our Rating: 9.1/10

You can go even cheaper on a 360Hz laptop, though, by opting for the Alienware m17 R4. At just under ~$2,250, this Alienware gaming laptop is easily one of the cheapest 360Hz laptops currently available.

It comes with an Intel Core i7-10870H processor, 16GB of RAM, an NVIDIA RTX 3060 GPU, a 1TB SSD, and 17.3-inch 1080P display.

The downgrades are obvious, as the m17 R4 comes with an older Intel Core i7 processor and a weaker RTX 3060 GPU. And, while the RTX 3060 is no slouch, every bit of GPU performance you lose on a 360Hz laptop will lower your ability to take full advantage of the high refresh rate display.

If you’re playing non-demanding titles, though, (like Rocket League) the RTX 3060 will be more than powerful enough to deliver a high enough framerate to use the 360Hz display to its fullest capabilites.

Ultimately, this RTX 3060 laptop will be able to run anything you throw at it. However, if you have the extra money to spend, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to upgrade to an option with a higher-end GPU in order to fully utilize the 360Hz display.

Which 360Hz Laptop is Right for You?

Considering the significant premium they come with, a 360Hz laptop won’t be a good option for everyone. And, really, unless you’re a serious competitive gamer or someone with an enormous budget, you’d probably be better off looking for less extreme options (like 144Hz laptops) instead.

However, if you know that a 360Hz laptop is the right choice for you, then one of the four options listed above should suit your needs.
