In our opinion, this iteration of Razer’s Blade 17 looks like the best RTX 3080 laptop option overall. Along with its RTX 3080 Ti GPU, it features a 12th Gen. Intel Core i7-12800H processor, 32GB of DDR5 memory, and a 1TB NVME SSD.

For the Blade 17’s screen, it features a 17.3-inch 1440P IPS display that has a whopping 240Hz refresh rate.

And, really, this is where this Razer laptop stands out—it combines a higher-resolution display with an ultra-fast refresh rate to offer the best of both worlds.

It doesn’t have an extreme Intel Core i9 CPU like a couple of the options listed below, but the i7-12800H is no slouch and will handle pretty much anything you throw at it with now problems. The Blade 17 is one of the more expensive RTX 3080 laptops available (it comes in at just under $4,000), but with the upgraded display, its excellent build quality, and the slightly more powerful RTX 3080 Ti GPU, it is definitely worth the price.

Ultimately, if you’re looking for the most well-rounded gaming laptop with an RTX 3080 GPU in it in terms of price-to-performance, then, right now, that appears to be the Blade 17.

2. ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17.3″

ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17
  • 1920 x 1080 Screen
  • Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU

In less than a couple of years, gaming laptops have moved from 240Hz displays to 300Hz displays, and now all the way up to 360Hz displays. And, while most users probably won’t see much real-world difference between a 240Hz display and a 360Hz display, most of the newer generation of gaming laptops are opting for 360Hz panels over 240Hz and 300Hz panels. So, it appears as if 240hz/300Hz displays had a quick run in the world of high-end gaming laptops.

Among the best 360Hz gaming laptop options currently available, the ASUS Scar 17 is one of the better choices.

Of course, our Top Pick overall, the Blade 17 has a high refresh rate (240Hz) as well and it features a higher resolution display (1440P). But, if you want to save some money and still get a 360Hz system, this ASUS RTX 3080 laptop would be the way to go.

It’s nearly ~$700 cheaper and, although it doesn’t have quite as powerful of a GPU/CPU combination, the Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU in this laptop is more than powerful enough to handle anything you throw at it.

Ultimately, if you’re looking for an RTX 3080 laptop that won’t break the bank and will offer extreme overall performance in competitive-style esports titles, this ASUS gaming laptop is worth checking out.

3. GIGABYTE AORUS 17G 17.3″

The best value RTX 3080 laptop

GIGABYTE AORUS 17G RTX 3080
  • 1920 x 1080 Screen
  • Intel i7-11800H CPU

If you have a large budget to spend and you want to get a gaming laptop with the latest hardware and the best GPU, but you also want to be a bit more budget-conscious and not spend an unnecessary amount, then you might want to consider one of the cheapest RTX 3080 laptop options, the GIGABYTE AORUS 17G.

At a little over $2,000, the AORUS 17G comes in at ~$1,300-2,000 less expensive than the two options listed above. The main sacrifices on the 17G is that it comes with a slightly older CPU, a 1080P display, and a 300Hz refresh rate.

So, it doesn’t have the higher-end CPU or the higher refresh rate/display resolution as the options listed above.

The AORUS 17G features 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and a 17.3-inch 1080P 300Hz display. Still, though, the 300Hz refresh rate display is still plenty fast enough to enjoy an extremely smooth in-game experience.

Ultimately, if you’re looking for the most gaming performance possible for the least amount possible, the AORUS 17G strikes a nice balance between cost and performance.

It doesn’t have the best set of hardware in it when compared to the other RTX 3080 laptop options on this list, but the differences are minor in the grand scehme of things, and it’s great price makes it the perfect option for budget-conscious gamers.

4. Razer Blade 4K 15.6″

The most extreme RTX 3080 laptop

Razer Blade 15 4K 144Hz
  • 4K Display
  • Intel i9-12900H CPU
  • 144Hz / IPS
  • 32GB DDR5 RAM

Look at you Mr. Hot Shot… You think you’re good enough for this RTX 3080 laptop? Because this is one of the baddest gaming laptops on the planet…

This 4K RTX 3080 Ti Razer laptop is no joke. It not only comes with a legit 4K display, but it also offers a crazy 144Hz refresh rate.

Also Read: Is 4K Worth it for Gaming?

Along with its RTX 3080 Ti GPU, this Razer laptop sports an Intel Core i9-12900H, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB NVME SSD. It also sports a 4K 15.6-inch display that has a 144Hz refresh rate.

At nearly $4,000, though, this laptop is the most expensive option on this list. And, if you don’t mind sacrificing some CPU and GPU performance (and going with a lower refresh rate), you could get the MSI GE66 4K laptop listed below, which comes in at nearly $1,200 cheaper.

In the end, the higher refresh rate 4K display, the extreme Intel Core i9-12900H processor, and the 1TB SSD, help this RTX 3080 laptop stand out as being one of the most extreme options currently available for hardcore gamers.

5. MSI GE66 4K 15.6″

The best 4K RTX 3080 laptop

MSI GE66 4K
  • 4K Display
  • Intel i9-11980HK CPU
  • 60HZ / IPS
  • 32GB DDR4 RAM

Our Rating: 9.4/10

Achieving legitimate gaming performance on a 4K display has been a daunting task even in desktop settings. For laptop users, it has been even harder to accomplish due to the smaller and more compact nature of laptops themselves.

However, NVIDIA’s newest RTX lineup of laptop GPUs is better-able to handle 4K gaming than previous generations and, with the RTX 3080 GPU, it is now more plausible than ever to game at 4K on a laptop.

This MSI gaming laptop comes with a 15.6″ 4K 60Hz display to go along with its RTX 3080 GPU.

The slightly older Intel Core i9-11980HK isn’t quite as powerful as some of the CPUs on the other RTX 3080 laptop options on this list, but it will be plenty powerful enough for any scenario you throw at it.  This laptop also sports 32GB of RAM and a 2TB NVME SSD.

The 4K display it comes with drives the price up to about ~$800 higher than our value pick, the AORUS 17G. But, if you want a 4K PC gaming experience in an RTX 3080 laptop format, this MSI gaming laptop (or, the option listed above) is probably your best option currently availble.

6. ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15.6″

Honorable mention #1

ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 RTX 3080
  • 1920 x 1080 Screen
  • Ryzen 7 5800H CPU
  • 300Hz / IPS
  • 32GB DDR4 RAM

Our Rating: 9.4/10

Check Price on Amazon

The reality is that our Honorable Mention picks won’t offer a noticeable performance difference when compared to the top picks listed above. However, in terms of price-to-performance, they do lag a little behind.

The ASUS Strix Scar 15 comes in at a pretty good deal, though. It comes in at nearly the same price as our top value pick, the AORUS 17G, while maintaining similar components. It has pretty much identical specs, with the only difference being that the ROG Strix Scar 15 Stealth comes with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor compared to the Intel Core i7-11800H processor on the AORUS 17G. While the AMD CPU might hold a slight performance advantage over the i7-11800H, the real-world difference will be minimal.

So, while we like the ASUS Scar 15, the AORUS 17G offers essentially the same hardware and comes in at a slightly lower price, too.

7. MSI GE66 Raider 15.6″

Honorable mention #2

MSI GE66210 GE66 Raider
  • 1920 x 1080 Screen
  • Intel i7-10875H CPU
  • 300Hz / IPS
  • 32GB DDR4 RAM

Our Rating: 9.4/10

Check Price on Amazon

Another option that would be worth considering if it dropped in price a bit is MSI’s GE66 Raider. Like the ROG Strix Scar 15 listed above, the MSI GE66 Raider has pretty much identical specs to some of our top picks.

It comes with a new RTX 3080 GPU, a 15.6-inch 300Hz 1080P display, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. It also comes with the Intel Core i7-10875H processor, which—while we pointed out above—is not quite a powerful as the AMD Ryzen CPUs, is still powerful enough to handle anything you throw at it

The bottom line, though, is that with the AORUS 17G coming in at over $100 less, the MSI GE66 Raider currently doesn’t make much sense.

It has essentially the same hardware, except for an older generation CPU. So, as long as it stays at its current price, it makes more sense to spend less money and get the better hardware array that the AORUS 17G offers.
