These laptops from MSI and Acer are currently the most affordable options that feature an RTX 4090 GPU.
While NVIDIA has released the desktop version of their new 5000-series GPUs, the mobile version is still months away from releasing. So, if you can’t wait and you need a new laptop right now, your best mobile GPU option is still the RTX 4090.
We’ve already taken a look at some of the best overall RTX 4090 laptops on the market, but in this quick post we’ll highlight two of the cheapest RTX 4090 laptops that are currently available.
1. MSI Raider GE68HX
Most affordable 4K RTX 4090 laptop right now

- 4K Screen
- Intel i9-14900HX
- 16″ 144Hz Display
- 64GB DDR5 RAM
The MSI Raider GE68HX is currently the cheapest RTX 4090 laptop that comes with a 4K display. Along with its RTX 4090 GPU, the GE68HX also comes with an Intel Core i9-14900HX processor, 64GB of DDR5 RAM, and 2TB of storage.
The 4K display is 16-inches long and has a 144Hz refresh rate. So, you get the combination of the faster refresh rate and the higher resolution, which will help to deliver an incredible visual experience in the games you play.
Whether or not you should choose the GE68HX, though, will come down to the kinds of games you play. If you mainly play single-player titles that are more graphics intensive, then the GE68HX will offer you an excellent experience.
However, if you play more competitive titles where the higher the framerate you get the better, then you might want to consider a laptop (like the Acer Predator Helios 18 listed below) that comes with a lower screen resolution and higher refresh rate.
Overall, though, for just under $3,700, the MSI GE68HX is not only one of the more affordable RTX 4090 laptops out there, but it’s also one of the better options overall.
2. Acer Predator Helios 18
The cheapest 1600P RTX 4090 laptop…

- 2560 x 1600 Screen
- Intel i9-14900HX
- 18″ 250Hz Display
- 32GB DDR5 RAM
Although a 4K display on a laptop will offer the potential for a better visual gaming experience, the reality is that it makes games much more difficult to run. And, even the mobile version of the RTX 4090 is going to struggle to max out certain games (like Black Myth Wukong) on a 4K display.
So, it isn’t a bad idea to consider RTX 4090 laptops that come with a 2K screen resolution in order to ensure you can play all of your favorite games at maxxed out settings.
And, right now, this configuration of Acer’s Predator Helios 18 lineup is the most affordable RTX 4090 laptop that comes with a 2K display. But, technically it’s a not a true 2K display as it comes with a superior 16:10 aspect ratio and 2560 x 1600 resolution. The display is 18-inches large and also comes with a whopping 250Hz refresh rate.
Along with the RTX 4090 GPU, the Predator Helios 18 also comes with an Intel Core i9-14900HX processor, 32GB of memory, and a 2TB NVME SSD.
Ultimately, the combination of the RTX 4090 and the 18-inch 1600P 250Hz refresh rate make the Helios 18 the perfect option for gamers who play a mix of competitive titles and graphics-intensive games.
While there technically aren’t any cheap RTX 4090 laptops out there, the MSI Raider GE68HX and Acer Predator Helios 18 are currently the most affordable options you’ll find.
If you’re looking for a 4K laptop, the GE68HX would be the better option for you. And, if you’re looking for an option to play competitive titles on, you’ll likely want to pickup the Helios 18.
