The line between game consoles and PCs is becoming more blurred as time goes on. And with gaming services like the Xbox Game Pass, it’s no wonder why.
Xbox Game Pass is a subscription-based service that allows you to access hundreds of games on your Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S for one monthly fee. And with the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you’ll be able to access and play Xbox titles on your PC as well.
However, despite this seemingly synergistic mix between Microsoft’s consoles and the Windows operating system, things are a little messy.
While there are a ton of titles available on the Xbox Game Pass, not every title that is available on the Xbox console is also available on the PC. Mix that with the lack of AAA titles on the Xbox, and a busy life, and it’s easy to understand why you might want to cancel. After all, if you just don’t have the time to take advantage of the service, or you can’t find the games you want to play, then why continue to pay for it?
Thankfully, it’s easier than ever to cancel your subscription. Microsoft allows you to do it from both the Xbox family of consoles and the PC. If you’re looking for a way to do it on your PC, then stick around. We’ll go over how to cancel your Xbox Game Pass subscription from your PC.
How to Cancel Xbox Game Pass on Your PC
The first thing you’ll need to do is open up a web browser on your PC and go to xbox.com.
Once you’re on the Xbox website, go to the top right corner and click the Sign in button. Then, sign in to your Microsoft account that you use to access the Xbox Game Pass.
After you’ve signed in to your Microsoft account, go back to the top-right corner of the screen and click on your profile. In the drop-down menu, click the three dots. From here, click on Subscriptions.
Now you’ll need to click on the Xbox Game Pass option on the next page, then click Manage.
On the Xbox Game Pass management page, you’ll see a list of options. Find the Cancel subscription option at the bottom of the page and click on it.
Finally, you’ll be presented with a confirmation page. Disregard the other plan options and click the Cancel subscription button at the bottom of the page to finalize your cancellation.
How to Turn Off Recurring Billing for Xbox Game Pass
If you want to keep using the Xbox Game Pass, but you’d rather manually renew your subscription, you can always turn off recurring billing instead of canceling.
To do so, follow the same steps as above until you reach the Xbox Game Pass management page. Now find and click the Turn off recurring billing option at the bottom, just above the Cancel subscription option.
You’ll be prompted to reconsider on the next page. Simply click the Turn off recurring billing button at the bottom of the page, and you’re finished.
Just don’t forget to renew your service after your current billing cycle ends if you want to continue your Game Pass service!
