1. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Founders Edition
Best Overall RTX 4060 Ti
Just as with the RTX 4070, we think the best overall RTX 4060 Ti is the FE version. Because NVIDIA is apparently selecting better-binned chips for their own 4060 Ti FE graphics cards, the 4060 Ti FE offers several advantages over many AIB alternatives.
Its modest boost clock (2535MHz) isn’t anything to write home about compared to competing AIB GPUs, but game clocks aren’t set in stone and are quite dynamic. A better-binned chip should boost higher and should perform better even if the spec sheet doesn’t quite reflect this.
This shows in testing. In TechPowerUp’s testing, for example, the Founders Edition card achieved a higher overclocked boost clock speed than any other 4060 Ti tested, and a higher overclocked framerate. Sure, it’s only 1fps, but that’s not nothing when you’re in the 40fps range.
The FE is also one of the most efficient 4060 Ti cards on the market, consuming fewer watts relative to framerates than most other AIBs. Other than the MSI Gaming X Trio 4060 Ti, that is, which ties for first place on efficiency—but the 4060 Ti is cheaper than the MSI 4060 Ti Gaming X Trio. It does, however—unlike other AIB options which require only an 8-pin power adapter—require a 16-pin 12VHPWR adapter.
As well as being power efficient, the 4060 Ti FE also runs pretty cool, though not as cool as some more expensive options.
And speaking of price, this is another area where the 4060 Ti FE shines. It goes for its $399 MSRP—no more, no less, and it will remain this way for as long as it’s on the market. There are a couple of AIB models that go for cheaper right now, but these don’t have quite the ‘specially selected GPU’ perks of the FE.
Finally, there’s something to be said about having a proprietary NVIDIA GPU, with that 30- and 40-series top-bottom dual fan design and silver NVIDIA logo splashed on the front. We’re all used to that design, now, but while it might have lost its novelty, it certainly hasn’t lost its wow factor.
2. MSI GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Gaming X Trio
Best Performing RTX 4060 Ti
It’s perhaps no surprise that MSI’s Gaming X Trio model is the best-performing RTX 4060 Ti. Gaming X Trio cards are typically some of the best-performing ones right out of the box, and this holds true for the $459 (currently $449 on sale) 4060 Ti Gaming X Trio.
Its price tag–$60 higher than the FE—is justified by its better out-of-the-box performance. Most online benchmarks show that the MSI 4060 Ti Gaming X Trio performs better out of the box than any other 4060 Ti AIB in modern games. This is in part because of its whopping 2670MHz boost clock, but it’s also because of its stellar cooling.
Again relying on TechPowerUp’s testing, they found that the Gaming X Trio 4060 Ti runs cooler at 56c than any other they tested, which is impressive considering the sheer out-of-the-box performance it’s capable of. And it’s even more impressive when you factor in that it’s the quietest 4060 Ti to boot, with its fans putting out less than 24dBA of noise.
And while there are certain factors that might make the ASUS TUF Gaming 4060 Ti OC a slightly better prospect for overclocking, the MSI Gaming X Trio 4060 Ti is a very close runner-up. This is because its max power limit is 195W (20W higher than the FE) and it can achieve an overclock just shy of 2.9GHz.
It’s also one of the only AIB 4060 Tis to share the FE’s low watt-per-frame efficiency. This probably won’t make for a massive energy saving over the years, but every little helps.
Of course, this card also looks great. Its familiar triple-slash RGB lighting atop its angular black-silver shroud isn’t anything new, but that this design has stuck around means people must like it, and for good reason.
Ultimately, though, the main reason to opt for the MSI card over others is for its out-of-the-box performance. Overclocking performance is often a silicone lottery, but out-of-the-box framerates and cooling setups tend to remain steady, and it’s in these areas that the 4060 Ti Gaming X Trio blows its competition out of the water.
3. ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti OC
Best RTX 4060 Ti for Overclocking
It’s a tough call between the TUF Gaming OC, MSI Gaming X Trio, and Founders Edition RTX 4060 Ti for overclocking. The FE can overclock the fastest depending on just how good of a bin your particular FE’s GPU is, but the cooling, VRM, and power limits are better on the Gaming X Trio. And then there’s the TUF OC, which has a slightly worse VRM than the MSI card, but the highest power limit of the bunch.
While its 6x55A power stages (330A max current) aren’t quite the Gaming X Trio’s 8x50A (400A max current), the $459 TUF OC’s VRM should be more than capable of supporting even hefty overclocks. Combine this with its 200W power limit—higher than any other RTX 4060 Ti—and you have a GPU born for overclocking.

It’s no slouch at stock clocks, either, given its 2625MHz stock boost clock and its chillingly cool temps while gaming. The Gaming X Trio might stay a couple of degrees cooler, but other than the MSI card, the TUF OC bests pretty much any 4060 Ti in the thermal department.
The only downside is it doesn’t have quite the snazzy RGB flair as the MSI card—not that the MSI card is overstated in that department, either. But if you’re into a darker, square, minimalistic design, the TUF OC is the GPU for you.
Ultimately, there’s little in it between the TUF OC and Gaming X Trio 4060 Ti for overclocking, so opting for the one that you think looks best isn’t a bad idea. That, or opting for a 4060 Ti FE and saving $60, while crossing your fingers and hoping the silicone lottery is kind—if it is, it might just overclock better than even these high-end AIBs.
4. MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 2X Black OC
Cheapest RTX 4060 Ti
Although prices may fluctuate over time, currently the cheapest RTX 4060 Ti retailing online is this Ventus 2X Black. You can pick one up for about $379, which is $20 cheaper than the 4060 Ti FE.
As you might expect with one of the cheaper variants, this MSI GPU doesn’t offer too much more in the way of performance, at least not compared to the TUF OC or Gaming X Trio. It offers a modest 30Hz overclock (2565MHz) compared to the FE and sports a matte black plastic shroud with dual “TORX FAN 4.0” fans.
Apart from its price, one draw to the Ventus 4060 Ti 2X Black OC is its size. It comes in at just 199mm long, while the 4060 Ti FE is 240mm long, and the triple-fan cards like the MSI and ASUS ones above are even longer at 338mm and 300mm, respectively.
Apart from its size and price, however, there’s little reason to opt for the Ventus over the 4060 Ti FE. Sure, it has a modest overclock, but I’d be willing to bet the silicone lottery will play better into NVIDIA’s hands than MSI’s, which might mean better performance from the FE despite its lower clock speed.
That being said, the difference will be very slim. So, if you want a 4060 Ti and want to save as much money as possible—or if you want a smaller card—the Ventus 2X Black OC 4060 Ti is a brilliant choice.
5. Zotac GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Twin Edge
Best-Looking RTX 4060 Ti
There are plenty of good-looking RTX 4060 Ti graphics cards (take the MSI Gaming X Trio, for instance). But none look as unique as the Zotac 4060 Ti Twin Edge.
For the same $399 price tag as the 4060 Ti FE, you’re getting a 4060 Ti that packs a dainty and smooth aesthetic into a sturdy build with a metal backplate. Its “IceStorm 2.0” cooling and “SPECTRA” RGB lighting gel together perfectly, and its curled-over shroud looks fantastic with its dual fan cooling setup.
We should also note that, if you prefer something a little more colorful, there’s a (modestly) overclocked “SPIDER-MAN: Across the Spider-Verse” version of the card which has a spider man graphic plastered across the GPU backplate. Aesthetics are clearly in Zotac’s mind with this graphics card.
Apart from looking stunning, just like the MSI Ventus OC, the overclocked Spider-Verse version of the Twin Edge OC 4060 Ti comes with a 30MHz overclock compared to the 4060 Ti FE. Unfortunately, it’s not as small as the Ventus, coming in 27mm longer at 226mm, but it’s still shorter than the FE, and pulls this off while looking gorgeous.
This card should be considered primarily for its aesthetics. If you’re looking for a cheap GPU, the Ventus should perform just as well but is a little cheaper. And if you’re looking for something more powerful, the TUF OC or Gaming X Trio will be a better bet for a little extra.
But if you’re looking for a 4060 Ti for a reasonable price that’s also worthy of taking the spotlight in your side-paneled, RGB-lit PC case, the Twin Edge (or Twin Edge OC) should do the trick, and it should do it with more than a hint of style.
