$1,000 Prebuilt vs $1,000 Build: Which Gaming PC is Better?

What kind of performance can you expect?

With an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X processor and an NVIDIA RTX 5070 graphics card, the Skytech Chronos 3 will be able to max out any game on a 1080P monitor and it should max out most games—even the most demanding titles—on a 1440P display as well.

This CPU/GPU combination is also good enough to serve as an entry point into 4K gaming as well.

For non-demanding titles, this system will need to be paired with a high refresh rate G-Sync display to really take advantage of the performance it offers and to give you an incredibly smooth in-game exerience.

NOTE: If you’re up for the challenge, you can build this $1,500 gaming PC, which will offer even more than the Chronos despite costing ~$150 less.

Skytech Chronos 3 Overview

Along with the 7700X and RTX 5070, this configuration of Skytech’s Chronos lineup comes with 32GB of DDR5 5600 MHz RGB memory, a 1TB Gen4 NVME SSD, a 360mm ARGB AIO cooler, and an 850-watt Gold-rated power supply.

The system is houses in a Skytech mid tower case that has a tempered glass side panel, a grilled front panel with wood accents, four pre-installed 120mm ARGB fans, and a full length PSU shroud.

The only real downside of this build is that it comes with a smaller 1TB NVME SSD. But, even though 1TB of storage space doesn’t go as far as it used to (thanks to newer games having enormous download sizes), it should still be enough to hold you over until you can add an additional drive.

Get this Deal Now While You Can!

Ultimately, the Skytech Chronos 3 is one of the more affordable RTX 5070 prebuilt gaming PCs you can currently get. However, as it is a limited time deal, it likely won’t be available at this price level for much longer. So, if you’re looking for a new gaming computer and you’re not willing to build it yourself, you might want to consider jumping on this system.
