3 Powerful Gaming PCs that Crush League of Legends System Requirements

Gaming PC for League of Legends System RequirementsIf you’re struggling to meet League of Legends’s system requirements, in this guide, we’ve listed three legit gaming PCs that can run League of Legends at max settings with ease.

Despite the rise of battle royale style games like PUBG and Fortnite, League of Legends is still one of the most played games by PC gamers. Its ultra-competitive gameplay and prominence as one esports’ biggest titles, combined with the fact that it is free-to-play, have helped League of Legends maintain its insane popularity. Not to mention, the game is so easy to run, that even 8-10 year old systems will have no problem handling it.

However, there are gamers out there who are either switching from console gaming and who need a new system to play LOL with, or gamers who have been struggling to run LOL on an older entry-level laptop at acceptable framerates who need an upgrade. Fortunately, the minimum and recommend system requirements are incredibly low for running League of Legends. They are:

League of Legends Minimum System Requirements

CPU 2GHz Processor
GPU Shader version 2.0 capable video card
RAM 2GB of Memory
OS Windows XP or Newer

League of Legends Recommended System Requirements

CPU 3GHz Processor
GPU NVIDIA 8800 or AMD Radeon HD 5670
RAM 4GB of Memory
OS Windows XP or Newer

For reference, the recommended GPUs for running League of Legends are 12-years old. So, really, the hardware necessary to run League of Legends is incredibly low compared to most other games. That is mostly because League of Legends is not a game that wins people over with advanced graphics, but rather with its addictive competitive gameplay. Still, though, if you do need a computer upgrade, either because you don’t have a system, or you’re running on a cheap laptop that doesn’t offer an ideal experience in LOL, the good news is that you can get a gaming PC that will meet League of Legends’ system requirements for at a very manageable price. And, in this guide, we’ve listed three different affordable computer builds that can run League of Legends on max settings on a 1080P monitor with ease.

Quick-Look: Three Powerful PCs that Exceed League of Legends System Requirements

For a quick look at the three gaming PC builds for League of Legends that we’ve put together, check out the table below. *The prices of PC parts and components fluctuate on a daily basis. So, if any of the builds listed above are coming in at significantly higher prices than are listed it may be that one or more of the components jumped up in price. Components also go out-of-stock on a regular basis, too. So, if you see anything that is out-of-stock in the builds above, or if the prices have changed, let us know in the comment section below and we will reply with some alternative options.

Budget $400 Gaming PC Build for League of Legends

PowerColor RX 550With this $400 gaming PC build you’ll be able to max out League of Legends on a 1080P monitor with high framerates. This build comes with an Intel Core i3-8100 procesor and a Radeon RX 550 graphics card.

The RX 550 isn’t ideal for high-end gaming and this build won’t be able to max out today’s top titles on a 1080P monitor. However, since League of Legends is not very demanding at all, the combination of the i3-8100 and the RX 550 is more than powerful enough to handle it with ease. So, this build will pair nicely with a budget-friendly 1080P monitor to deliver you an optimal experience in LOL.

The build also comes with 8GB of DDR4 memory, a 450W power supply that will allow you to add a budget-friendly dedicated graphics card later down the road, a 320GB hard drive, and a decent micro-ATX case.

Again, this system won’t be able to run more demanding games on higher settings, but you should be able to run most of today’s top titles on lower settings with decent framerates. And, if you do want to start playing other titles in the future, all you’ll have to do is upgrade your graphics card (and likely your power supply, too).

In the end, if you need a cheap option to start running League of Legends on higher settings with higher framerates, this $400 PC will be the perfect option for you. (If you want to go even cheaper, check out our $300 PC build, as that should work, too).

Mid-Range $500 PC for League of Legends

ASUS RX 570 4GBBelieve it or not, you can build a $500 gaming PC that is capable of not only running League of Legends easily, but also capable of running today’s top titles fairly easily as well.

This $500 PC build comes with a quad-core Intel Core i3-8100 and a Radeon RX 570 dedicated graphics card. The combination of the i3-8100 and the RX 570 is powerful enough to where it will be able to run even more demanding games at medium-to-max settings on a 1080P monitor with higher framerates. And, if you want to play League of Legends on a higher resolution monitor, this system will be able to do so as well.

That’s not too bad for a system that costs just a little more than an Xbox One X.

This build also comes with 8GB of RAM, a 1TB hard drive, and a 550W power supply. For future upgrades, you could upgrade the processor to an Intel Core i7, the graphics card to a higher-end dedicated GPU (you’ll need to upgrade the power supply at the same time to accommodate a more powerful GPU, though), and you can add an SSD to help your system boot and load games faster and to help your system (outside of gaming) feel quicker in general.

The bottom line, though, is that this $500 gaming PC won’t need any upgrades for a long time if you’re playing League of Legends—or even any other of today’s top titles—on a 1080P monitor.

A Powerful $600 PC for League of Legends

Thermaltake VERSA H15If you can spend just $100 more compared to the $500 build listed above, you can go from getting a system that can run most games on a 1080P monitor at higher settings, to a system that can easily max any game out on a 1080P monitor with high framerates. So, yes this system will handle League of Legends with no problems. And, it will also handle today’s top games with no problems as well.

The other cool thing about this $600 PC build is that it can be paired with an affordable 144Hz monitor that is compatible with AMD’s FreeSync technology. Essentially, by pairing this build with a high refresh rate FreeSync monitor, you’ll be able to eliminate screen-tearing and stuttering from your games and, as a result, your games will feel incredibly smoother.

This build gets the base of its power by featuring a quad-core Intel Core i3-8100 and a Radeon RX 580 8GB graphics card. It also comes with 8GB of RAM, a 1TB hard drive, and a semi-modular 550W power supply.

For future upgrade paths, this system would benefit most from adding an SSD to it and then you could also add a second 8GB stick of memory, too. And, finally, you could upgrade the processor to an Intel Core i7-8700 later down the road as well. Though, as this build stands right now, it will hold up well for 1080P gaming for at least the next four years—and, probably much longer than that

Need A Gaming PC to Meet LOL’s System Requirements? These Inexpensive PCs Will Do the Trick!

If you need a solid gaming PC that will handle League of Legends with ease, the three PC builds listed above should work for you. If you have a different budget than the three options above, then you might want to check out some of our other build guides for more options:

  1. The $600 Build is coming in at ~$730. I wouldn’t even mind a slightly higher price point, but I expect this is not nearly as efficient a build as when it was released. Any suggestions for more cost effective options?

    • Hey David, thanks for commenting.

I don’t include the cost of Windows in the builds because there are ways around paying $100 for it upfront, so, for the most part, the most updated version of the $600 build is the same:

You can forego purchasing Windows 10 right now and still install it on your computer and use it as normal. The only difference between a licensed version of Windows 10 and installing it without entering a purchased key is that without the key Windows will put a watermark in the bottom right-hand corner that says that it isn’t activated. So, if you can live with that, you can get the better hardware now and just pay for an activation key later down the road.

Or, you can go with the updated version of our $500 build and with Windows that will take you to ~$645:

The only difference between the two systems is that the $500 build comes with the RX 580 4GB instead of the RX 580 8GB, which shouldn’t be a huge difference in terms of in-game performance.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
